It’s important to be drinking water long before your BJJ workouts to avoid this. Staying hydrated helps you perform better, as well as protects your muscles from injury.
Get Adequate Rest
We’re all familiar with the feeling of underperforming after a night when we’ve gotten little sleep. Not only does a lack of sleep take away from mental clarity, but it will also make your body weaker. You will want to make sure that you’re sleeping the right amount before BJJ practice and especially before BJJ competitions.
Performing well in BJJ is not only a result of skill, but what goes on when you’re not at practice. It will be hard to do well in BJJ if you’re not treating your body right when it comes to what you’re regularly eating.
